What rulebooks are on your physical or virtual (PDF) table this month?

The subscription thread is here: Rulebooks on your Table Subscription Thread.

I am starting July with Ancient Battles Deluxe. I'm a big fan of Commands & Colors: Ancients but I've been following a thread of a debate between C&C:A and ABD, so I thought to check out ABD and see what the debate is about.

I got a bunch of new games thanks to an influx of disposable income:

Andean Abyss
Across 5 Aprils
Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001 – ?
Normandy '44 is on my table as I play solo through my first game.

Im really excited about Across 5 Aprils as I love Mosby's Raiders, The Civil War gets such high praise, and Ambush! is my favorite game, so Eric Lee Smith's designs are of great interest to me.

I have looked breifly over the Andean Abyss rules, and I am very tempted to P500 A Distant Plain as the system seems like something I will greatly enjoy.

With the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg upon us, I am in a big Civil War mood:

(I have to get #4 back, later this month, though)

And I'm teaching about 50 folks how to play:

so I have been re-reading this one a lot.

I have but one rulebook on my table, need to focus on the next game:

Birds of Prey

No 'disposable' money here, so have to play games from my collection. This is basically a good thing, I have this game for more than 2 years and often fiddled around with it. Thanks to the airbattle yahoo group I found somebody who was willing to teach me.

As umpire, I'm supposed to know these better than the players. These rules are quite intricate but very well written.

Me, too.

Keep us posted on how you're coming along with it Wendell. Still working my way through the RB, but it looks very intriguing.

Nice to delve into areas that I don't know too much about.

Just got a used copy of Rommel in the Desert. Scanning over the rules to play a game with my son over the holidays (we love Julius Caesar and have heard good things about RitD).

Also got a copy of Chariots of Fire to add to my GBoH collection - trying to get through the chariot movement and firing rules - really looking forward to this one over the holidays also.

Last two are more of a wishful thinking, but I'll do my best.

Just bought Tide of Iron and spent all day Saturday punching out the chits, organizing the minis, making individual card boxes for all the little decks....

and if it'll be like the rest of my wargames, it'll now sit on the shelf and collect dust while I play Skyrim. blush

War in the Desert

We just took delivery of an 8' x 4' table, so all those bigger games I have been itching to get out now have enough spece.

Setting up to play a combined Western Desert/Torch game...2 nights of setting up so far....my wife wandered in for a look and just shook her head and made a sort of groaning noise.

D-Day at Omaha Beach
Europe Engulfed

And I'm torn between relearning Thunderbolt Apache Leader or Silent War...aaaand I should have Phantom Leader Deluxe arriving this month too...
