A HuCard format game card

Game cards are ROM media with pins on the top or bottom surface of the card. A typical game card is not much thicker than its printed circuit board. Examples of game cards are HuCard media (for the TurboGrafx-16 consoles), PlayStation Vita game cards, or Sega Cards (for the SEGA Master System).

Game cards differ from memory cards in that they are sold with a game already loaded onto the card, and that they are usually not rewritable. Game cards differ from cartridges in that their pins are exposed on the top or bottom surface of the card rather than recessed into the front edge of a cartridge. Additionally, game cards are usually too thin to include a button cell battery.
