HPS Simulations has over 70 titles covering a wide range of conflicts and time periods, from Roman legions fighting in the Punic Wars to airmen flying over the skies of the Middle East. Our simulations allow you to explore the conflicts of history in a variety of formats and scales. Most titles are turn based (IGOUGO), but some as simultaneous resolution (WGO) and others are real-time.
HPS Simulations has been in business since 1990. We are wargamers ourselves and we stand behind our products. Once a game is published we continue to support and update it for the life of the series, generally upwards of 10 years. An investment in a title is not something that will be left in the dust the next year.
Each game we publish, even if most are part of a specific series, are completely stand-alone games. The series approach allows for a game engine to mature with future enhancements as each title is published - some initiated by the design team, others by customer feedback. These enhancements are rolled out for free in the form of updates off the web site & in some cases expansion packages that again are free. Additionally several of our series of games are driven by government development programs so enhancements generated by those projects often filter down into the commercial products - specifically the Squad Battles, Naval Battles, Modern Air Power series of games, and to a lesser extent Panzer & Modern Campaigns games. Point of Attack 2 also is funded by government contract work.
HPS Simulations is one of the oldest publishers dedicated to producing computer games and simulations for wargamers. HPS has received dozens of awards, including the prestigious Premier Award from Computer Gaming World Magazine. Developers who publish under the HPS banner are: Scott Hamilton, John Tiller, Paul Bruffell & Jim Lunsford.
