User Summary

SomaSim is an independent developer and publisher.

The studio was founded in 2013 by Robert Zubek and also features Matthew Viglione, both are residents of Chicago.

Robert is responsible for the technical side of the games. He has a past with Zynga, working on CitiVille and Farmville 2. Matthew is a former director of communications at Catholic Charities in San Francisco, though a graphics designer by training, so he used those skills to design anything on print, online, video etc. came from him. Now he is responsible for the game systems within their designs.

The first release from SomaSim was 1849, released in 2014, followed by an expansion (1849 - Nevada Silver the same year. These games both released under their own name.

Currently they are working on their hit Project Highrise, released in 2016 and with several expansions and/or content packs. The game has so far sold more than 210,000 copies.
