Post-Apocalyptic

Apocalyptic is concerned with the end of civilization, either through nuclear war, plague, or some other general disaster.

Post-Apocalyptic is set in a world or civilization after an apocalyptic disaster. The time frame may be immediately after the catastrophe, focusing on the travails or psychology of survivors, or considerably later, often including the theme that the existence of pre-catastrophe civilization has been forgotten (or mythologized). Post-apocalyptic stories often take place in an agrarian, non-technological future world, or a world where only scattered elements of technology remain.

	Technology Apocalypse	Humankind looses control of its machines or is taken over by an AI. Other times mankind's inventions cease to function and modern humans struggle to survive without them.	Example: Horizon Zero Dawn
	Environmental Apocalypse	The world is destroyed by bacteria, climate change, or other natural and unnatural biological phenomenon.	Example: The Last of Us
	Resource Apocalypse	Certain resources are nearly exhausted, usually oil, resulting in a breakdown of law and order.	Example:
	War Apocalypse	Prolonged conventional, nuclear, chemical, or biological war leads to the planets destruction.	Example: Far Cry New Dawn Fallout 4
	Cozy Apocalypse	Civilization comes to an end and most of humanity is killed. Those who survive relatively unscathed are then freed from the prior constraints of civilization and are able to enjoy a relatively comfortable existence with little associated hardship or danger despite the collapse of society.
