MeetMax Games

MeetMax Games is a new venture to take what we all love about board games and create a platform and games for groups of people to play simultaneously as corporate or school entertainment.

All games are real time and played person to person, not individually against a computer. Shared screens allow players to keep track of game progress but personal devices are not used and technology is only for the administration required for a large group to play in real time. Games require no prior knowledge or experience. Rules are explained in under 2 minutes, yet allow for different gaming experiences with some unique mechanics that are only possible with large groups and simultaneous play.

The five games we have already developed for the platform are:

*Treasure: A short discovery game, figuring out the clues to find your teammates and the hidden treasure
*Ships: A fast-paced negotiation and press your luck game with a bit of resource management and virtual worker placement
*Settlement: A light civ development game, trading resources and collaborating to grow your character and develop the new world
*Potions: Sid Sackson's classic Haggle re-themed - trading information and ingredients to brew the strongest potion
*Balloons: A light-hearted chaotic movement and coordination game to launch and keep as many hot-air balloons afloat as possible

Time: Thursday, 2 p.m. & 3:30 p.m. (2 sessions)
Location: 1105

Pioneers Tournament

Queen Games is hosting a tournament for one of their new games, Pioneers, at their booth (#102). Play to win a copy of the game.

Pioneers - In a game of Pioneers, the players attempt to populate the cities shown on the game board with their pioneers. Each pioneer has a specific profession, and can only be settled in a city where their work is needed.

After all the pioneers riding in a coach have been deployed on the game board, the player controlling the coach earns money and victory points. Players also construct roads between the cities, expanding their own network and earning money from other players who use the roads. At the end of the game, each player will be rewarded with additional victory points based on the number of their pioneers in their largest network of connected roads. A game of Pioneers should last 45 min.

Time: Thursday & Saturday, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Location: Queen Games Booth #102

Spiel-a-Thon

The Spiel-a-thon is a fund raiser for The Spiel Foundation, a non profit organization that donates bundles of 5 quality board and card games to children's hospitals and senior centers. The money we raise at the event helps us bring more fun to kids and seniors across the country! (thespielfoundation.com)

This year's Spiel-a-thon is totally different!

10-12 game stations with teachers will be set up in the Innovation Ballroom from 1-4 PM on Friday, November 18. Each game will be a goofy, fun, quick to learn game like Dr Eureka, Strike, Loopin' Louie or Tumblin' Dice.

To participate in the Spiel-a-thon, come get a punch card from the cashier table. No registration or sign up needed. Just come get a punch card once the event has started!

For each game you play, you'll get a stamp on your punch card. When you're done, come back to the cashier and you'll pay a small amount ($2-3) per stamp on your card.

You can play for five minutes and donate a few bucks but the longer you play the more chances you will have to win free games during our regular raffles during the event and if you score enough stamps, you'll compete in the final round for an amazing array of game prize baskets!

Come play and help us raise money for a great cause!

Time: Friday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Innovation Ballroom

Virtual Flea Market

Here is the concept - While the BoardGame Bazaar (formerly known as Flea Market) is great, for some of us who are traveling to the convention, carrying games to the convention that you may or may not be able to sell is a hassle at the very least. So, use the "Virtual Flea Market" instead. If you have items that you'd like to sell at BGG.Con, list them here with the condition of your items, and the price or terms you'd like to sell for. With any luck, the deals will be done ahead of the convention and you can just do the physical swap in Dallas.

Time: Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
