ARRIVAL

For more information on pricing and payment deadlines, see this thread: BGG@SEA'19 (Eastern Caribbean) Now Available

Registration

Place your deposit via the BGG Events Store

We need to get as many deposits as possible as early as possible so we can keep the right amount of space reserved for us. You are also encouraged to put in your deposit early as stateroom selection will be done in that order. You're certainly welcome to make full payment now as well if you'd like, and it is fully refundable (based on the schedule posted in the threads linked above or on the BGG Events Store).

Ok, how do I get in on this?
Simply to go the BGG Events Store and buy the "Stateroom Deposit" item for the category, week, and occupancy you wish to reserve. At some point before April 10th, 2019 you will also need to purchase a "Remainder ### Occupancy" item for that same category. Every reservation must be paid for by purchasing both a "Deposit" item and a "Remainder" item, the latter of which varies based on the number of occupants in the stateroom.

At the same time you need to decide what level of gaming access you want:

  • A Gameroom Badgegets you the traditional BGG@SEA experience of gaming with us in the dedication meeting space. We're breaking it out into a separate charge now because some of your family members may just be along for the ride and don't want to game, so no need to pay extra for them to do so. This also allows us to make our best effort to manage the occupancy of the room to keep it "full, but not crowded".

To summarize here's the requirements and benefits of each level of BGG@SEA participation:

BGG@SEA Group Member (buy a cabin)

  • Dine with other BGG@SEA Group members every night (if desired).
  • Welcome Reception, Location TBD, Day 1, 7:00pm (hot and cold canapés' and open bar)
  • Access to overflow gaming space in the Main Dining Room on specified days from 7:00am - 4:00pm (sharp).
  • Access to BGG@SEA exclusive Group Shore Excursions (details TBD)
  • Farewell Reception, Location TBD, Day 7, 7:00pm (hot and cold canapés' and open bar)
  • Commemorative BGG@SEA 2018 badge (color-coded to participation level), neck wallet, and draw-string bag.

BGG@SEA Group Member w/ Gameroom Badge (buy a cabin + $150 per badge)

  • Everything in BGG@SEA Group Member above
  • Ability to request one (or two) game(s) (via traditional Geeklist) be added into the BGG@SEA Library from the full BGG Library.
  • Ability to checkout one game at a time from the BGG@SEA Library and play elsewhere on the ship.
  • 24/7 access to the dedicated BGG@SEA gaming space in the Conference Center on Deck Two.

Other questions

Should I make travel arrangements yet?
Personally, I'd wait until about 3 months before cruise date, if possible. Even though I'm confident this will be a success, there's always a chance only a handful will actually put their money where their mouth is and we may cancel it. If, however, initial response is as strong as I hope and expect it to be, I'll certainly let y'all know earlier that it's safe to make travel arrangements.

How can I bring my family of 5+?
Although the larger family suites are already booked, we may have a limited number of adjoining suites and staterooms that inter-connect to each other. Simply purchase two Stateroom Deposit items and in the order comments specify that you'd like your staterooms to be adjoining, and we'll see what we can do.

What games are being brought?
We'll start a GeekList as we get closer to cruising date - This was 2016's: BGG@SEA 2016 Library. Each attendee gets to specify any two additional games that we'll bring.

Will there be exhibitors? Prizes?
We've heard from some "in the biz" that they're interested in supporting this endeavor. Keep an eye on the forums for any further information. We will not have traditional booths or anything, just hopefully some industry folks that want to join us in the fun. Maybe a sponsored on-board or at-port event or something.

Prizes... A traditional bring-a-game-take-a-game prize table provided by our convention attendees.

What about harassment/conduct/abuse?
BGG.CON Events is dedicated to harassment-free convention experiences for everyone. Our anti-harassment policy can be found at BGG Events Harassment Policy

Well, as well as it can be applied anyway to BGG@SEA - we can only control the Conference Center space we have booked. We will revoke badges and deny access to that room as necessary but we have no control or concern for anything that happens anywhere else on the ship.
