Miniatures
Miniatures are often used for table-top War Gaming, but are useful in playing Role-Playing games and with increasing production values also becoming much more integral to some Board Games too. They are made out of metal, plastic or resin, though you can get card cut-out ones (some free off the web). There are even miniatures which can be purchased pre-painted. Miniatures come in a variety of scales including; 6mm (1/300), 10mm, 15mm, 20mm (H0/00), 25mm, 28mm, 32mm, 35mm, 42mm and 54mm. Twenty-five millimetre was popular in the 1970s and 80s, but have been replaced by 28mm (and creaping up to 32mm). Fifteen millimetre has made a resurgence in the last few years, 10mm is getting more popular and 35mm plastic miniatures are getting produced with board games. LinksInternal Links
